How Victoria Petersen Is Transforming Clinics by Rethinking Operations and Internal Marketing

After years inside healthcare systems watching promising professionals burn out and walk away, Victoria Petersen founded Medi-Consult Solutions to be the change agent practices didn’t know they needed. As part of our Wantrepreneur to Entrepreneur Spotlight series, her journey reveals the power of purposeful pivots and confident clarity, especially the moment she turned down misaligned work and embraced mission-first leadership. Today, she helps outpatient clinics streamline operations, strengthen teams, and engage patients through holistic, hands-on consulting that fuses process improvement with strategic communication. The result? Healthier practices that retain great people and deliver better care.
Hi, Victoria! Thanks for joining us today. Tell us about your business. Who do you serve, how do you serve them, and what's the impact that your business and work makes?
At Medi-Consult Solutions, I serve outpatient healthcare organizations, private practices, and clinics by helping them streamline operations, optimize internal marketing, and improve both patient and employee retention. I work with providers, practice managers, and leadership teams to uncover inefficiencies, update outdated processes, and implement strategic solutions tailored to their unique needs. Whether it’s workflow optimization, policy development, or team training, my consulting is both hands-on and results-driven. The true impact of my work is seen in stronger teams, more engaged patients, and sustainable practice growth, ultimately allowing healthcare professionals to focus more on what matters most: delivering quality care.
Tell us about the moment you finally felt like you went from wantrepreneur to entrepreneur.
I felt like a true entrepreneur the first time I turned down work that didn’t align with my mission. That clarity and confidence marked a turning point from chasing opportunities to leading my business with intention.
Describe the moment or period in your life/career that motivated you to make the entrepreneurial leap.
After years of working in healthcare and seeing talented staff leave due to avoidable operational breakdowns, I realized I could make a bigger impact beyond the walls of a single organization. I witnessed firsthand how inefficiencies, lack of communication, and outdated systems were contributing to burnout and turnover, issues that could be prevented with the right guidance. That realization motivated me to take the entrepreneurial leap and launch Medi-Consult Solutions, where I could help healthcare leaders create healthier, more sustainable work environments and retain the dedicated professionals our industry relies on.
Describe a tool, service, or software that has been a game-changer for your business. How does it contribute to your success?
Google Apps have been a game-changer for my business. With tools like Docs, Sheets, Focus and Forms (enhanced by Gemini and the latest advancements in AI) I’m able to streamline internal operations, manage client workflows, and create polished, professional patient education materials and internal marketing resources. These tools not only support efficient collaboration but also enable me to deliver high-quality, customized content quickly. This level of organization and adaptability adds real value to the consulting services I provide and helps clients see results faster.
We know that success is very often a non-linear path. Tell us about a failure, pivot point, or lesson that changed your course or direction and helped to get you where you are today.
Early on, I tried to serve businesses in areas where I was knowledgeable, but I hadn’t yet found the intersection of my true passion and where I could add the most value. It wasn’t until I refocused specifically on operations and internal marketing within the healthcare space that everything clicked. That shift allowed me to deliver deeper, more strategic and long-term impact for my clients, and gave my business the clarity and momentum it needed to grow in the right direction.
What unconventional strategy did you employ that significantly impacted your business?
One unconventional strategy that has significantly impacted my business is integrating staff training, resource materials, and patient education into operational consulting. Rather than treating these elements as separate from process improvement, I build them directly into the strategies I implement. For example, when updating workflows or policies, I also provide customized staff resource materials that reinforce expectations, improve communication, and support day-to-day efficiency. Likewise, I help clients develop patient education tools that align with their services and boost engagement. This holistic approach not only enhances team performance but also elevates the overall patient experience, ultimately leading to better outcomes and more sustainable growth.
What’s something you wish you knew sooner that you’d give as advice for aspiring or newer entrepreneurs?
Don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you start, because it never will be. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that momentum matters more than perfection. Take action with the knowledge and tools you have and allow yourself to grow and refine along the way. It’s also important to give yourself grace during the process. Entrepreneurship comes with learning curves, unexpected turns, and plenty of trial and error. Progress doesn’t always look linear, but every step forward counts, even the messy ones.
