Hi, Jeri Larsen! Thanks for joining us today. Tell us about your business. Who do you serve, how do you serve them, and what's the impact that your business and work makes?
Manage for Good serves the $5-$100M market of companies who are right at the inflection point of scale, but need help getting over that next hurdle to growth.
Tell us about the moment you finally felt like you went from wantrepreneur to entrepreneur.
I was at an organization that finally made me brave enough to jump out on my own.
Describe theI was at an organization that finally made me brave enough to jump out on my own. moment or period in your life/career that motivated you to make the entrepreneurial leap.
I was in the break room of my current company. I was watching utter chaos around me and watching a leadership team making reactionary choices. I was thinking, "There's got to be a better way," and "I could help others avoid this." And I bought the domain manageforgood.com, and the dream was born.
Describe a tool, service, or software that has been a game-changer for your business. How does it contribute to your success?
Executive assistant. Game changer.
We know that success is very often a non-linear path. Tell us about a failure, pivot point, or lesson that changed your course or direction and helped to get you where you are today.
I had a boss tell me once, "You're a vaccum filler." (He meant it in a constructive-feedback way.) At the time, it was hard to hear, but since then, I've realized it's the most accurate description of what I do. I see gaps and fill them. That's my superpower.
What unconventional strategy did you employ that significantly impacted your business?
I threw a launch party—like a graduation party or a wedding—to kick it off. Invited 500 of my closest friends. Had an incredible venue, swag, food, and vibe. Best marketing spend ever.
What’s something you wish you knew sooner that you’d give as advice for aspiring or newer entrepreneurs?
Don't wait. The grass is greener.
